    稳定同位素金属生产的三种主要方法是:蒸馏,离心浓缩和电磁富集分离同位素的电磁装置。仅蒸馏有效地工作时,有一个大的相对质量差的一个元素之间的不同的同位素。因此,蒸馏只用于轻元素的同位素的分离。HE,LI,B和C等元素的同位素的分离通常通过蒸馏或扩散。离心机分离同位素的元素过于沉重蒸馏浓缩,是成本效益的方法。但是这并不总是可用的。通过离心浓缩产生的典型同位素有:铁,镍,锌,镉,锗,硒,碲是能够富民的元素的同位素,但它是昂贵的操作,只有相对少量可以生产。光化学用于在铊,钯,锶,钙,镧系元素基的同位素生产。
