基本配置如下：
每个包装内有144个空玻管以及软木塞
在玻管的底部和顶部分别用琥珀色着色剂标志，用于形成正确的气泡尺寸。
ASTM D1545计时方法：
从玻管的底部往上有27mm、100mm、108mm三处琥珀色环标记。先将流体装至玻管100mm线处，塞入软木塞至108mm线处。然后玻管反转至底部向上，再反转回原样，当气泡通过27mm线处时开始计时，气泡上升通过100mm线停止计时。
