据外媒报道，在本届悉尼国际葡萄酒大赛（SIWC）上，阿尔迪超市（Aldi）5澳元1瓶的2015南点（South Point）粉红葡萄酒获得冠军，大赛评出最好的葡萄酒是法国2005逸兰金标香槟葡萄酒（Lanson Gold Label Brut Vintage），售价约为58澳元一瓶。
跟大多数葡萄酒比赛不同，悉尼国际葡萄酒比赛入围者根据消费者体验做出评定。
据报道，这次比赛中有代表100个葡萄品种的1812瓶酒参赛，只有269瓶葡萄酒得奖。
比赛评出的最成功的酒厂是新西兰的Yealands葡萄酒集团（Yealands Wine Group），有七种价格不到15澳元的葡萄酒赢得了奖牌。

The Aldi 2015 South Point rose was among six winners in the rose section, and was also awarded a coveted Blue Gold medal, the equivalent of silver.
Aldi also scored goals with its $12.99 Tudor shiraz, which took out the trophy for Best Lighter Bodied Dry Red, and a Blackstone Paddock “The Player” Barossa shiraz for $14.99.
