据外媒报道，日本松下电器公司（Panasonic）自两年前发明“疏水沙（Hydrophobic sand）”以来，历经两年的开发应用，最近发表近期成果显示，使用该技术，不仅能生产出绿色无公害农产品，并且作物的生长速度也较快。
疏水砂技术是松下公司为了防止电子锅沾上锅巴或脏污，而在电子锅的内锅涂上一层拨水性物质而发掘出的灵感。经由这项原理应用于土壤上，可以将砂子的表面均匀包裹厚度仅数奈米的拨水性物质，利用这些砂粒层可以将水留在土壤内不流失，同时可以改善肥料外流与含盐水分渗入现象，最终使得水资源与肥料充分被利用，改善土壤与农业收成。
